Job Purpose
World Vision Tanzania seeks a highly qualified Project Manager to lead implementation of the REACTS-IN (Realizing Gender Equality and Attitudinal Change for Transformative Systems in Nutrition) project — a seven-year, donor-funded initiative focused on improving nutrition and promoting gender equality for women, adolescent girls, and children under five in Simiyu Region (Maswa and Meatu Districts).
The Project Manager will be responsible for day-to-day coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities. This role ensures high-quality execution, compliance with donor requirements, and effective collaboration with stakeholders. The incumbent will supervise project staff, oversee budgets, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
Key Objectives

Promote gender-equitable practices in nutrition, health, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) at all levels.

Strengthen the delivery of equitable nutrition and health services, including SRHR, for marginalized women, girls, and children.

Enhance the capacity and effectiveness of local and international stakeholders to advocate for improved nutrition and SRHR outcomes.
Major Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Strategic Engagement (25%)

Provide leadership and technical oversight for all project activities.
-
Develop detailed annual work plans, monitor progress, and adjust as needed in collaboration with World Vision Canada.

Facilitate technical assistance to government and local stakeholders to maximize project impact.

Identify and manage project risks, escalating where necessary.
-
Integrate project activities with ongoing World Vision health, nutrition, and livelihood programs to enhance sustainability.

Coordinate with local partners on initiatives such as bio-fortified crop production.

Oversee social behavior change strategies addressing barriers to adolescent SRHR.
-
Ensure all project models are implemented with high quality and documented for learning.

Lead Project Steering Committee meetings and maintain stakeholder engagement.

2. Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation (25%)

Ensure timely reporting and communication aligned with donor and World Vision standards.

Work with M&E teams to track results, gather and analyze data, and adjust implementation strategies.

Oversee project opening, reviews, and close-out activities.
-
Maintain M&E tracking tools linking activities to outputs and outcomes.

Ensure timely submission of financial and narrative reports.
-
Document and share lessons learned and success stories.

3. Reporting (10%)

Lead preparation of accurate and timely donor reports (narrative and financial).

Prepare information materials, stories, and visuals for donor visibility and communication.

Maintain an organized project reporting system and ensure compliance with deadlines.

4. Partnership Management (10%)

Develop and implement partner capacity-building plans.

Conduct regular partner monitoring and performance reviews.

Facilitate annual partnership health checks.

Strong collaboration with local CSOs and implementing partners.
5. Financial & Resource Management (10%)

Ensure prudent use of project funds in line with donor regulations.

Maintain financial accountability and meet spending targets.

Manage project assets responsibly.

Achieved donor burn-rate (90–100%).
6. Networking, Visibility & Donor Relations (10%)

Represent World Vision at meetings with government, partners, and other stakeholders.

Promote project visibility and donor recognition.

Facilitate documentation and sharing of project successes and challenges.

Qualifications
Required Experience
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing integrated health and nutrition projects.
-
Proven track record in project management, planning, and donor reporting.
-
Experience working with international donor-funded programs and local partners.
-
Knowledge of adolescent sexual and reproductive health, MNCH, nutrition, and livelihoods.
-
Experience providing technical assistance and capacity building.
Education
-
Master’s degree in Public Health, Project Management, or a related field.
Preferred Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.

Strong coordination, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

High integrity and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Experience collaborating with government agencies, CSOs, and community groups.

Work Environment

Based in Maswa, Simiyu Region.
-
Domestic travel up to 50%, with occasional international travel as needed.

Requires flexibility, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work in rural settings.
Language Requirements
