Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships 2026/2027 | Study in South Africa & UK (Fully Funded)

The Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships are now open for the 2026/2027 academic year. These fully funded awards provide outstanding students from Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi the chance to pursue postgraduate studies at top universities in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
In 2025, the Trust awarded 21 scholarships through strong academic partnerships with leading institutions, continuing its mission to support education that contributes to sustainable development in Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:

Be nationals of Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Malawi.

Hold permanent residency in one of these countries.

Intend to return home after completing their studies.

Not already enrolled in a postgraduate programme.
Scholarship Benefits
The Beit Trust provides comprehensive funding, including:

Full tuition fees and academic costs (paid directly to the university).

A living allowance.
-
UK visa, health surcharge, TB test, and biometric fees.

Additional support for arrival, laptop, and departure expenses.

Return economy-class airfares.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be assessed on:

Academic Excellence – Preference for applicants with Distinction or Merit (Upper Second Class) in their undergraduate degree.

Professional Experience – At least three years’ relevant work experience is strongly valued.

Leadership Qualities – Evidence of leadership in academic, professional, or community settings.

⚠️ MBA programmes are not funded by the Beit Trust.
Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews during the week of 20 April 2026.

Interviews will take place in person in Lusaka, Harare, and Blantyre.
-
Final awards are based on merit, eligibility, and alignment with the Trust’s goals.

Applicants must upload all documents in one session (you cannot save and return later). Prepare the following:

Degree certificates and transcripts.

Updated CV.
-
Personal Statement (max 300 words) explaining how your studies will benefit your country.

A recent photograph.
-
Valid passport (with issue/expiry details and blank pages).

Three references: Academic, Character, and Employer (if applicable).
